A Neighbourhood Pub in East Oxford
The one that started it all.
The Rusty Bicycle opened its doors in 2009 as Dodo’s very first pub, and it’s been at the heart of East Oxford ever since.
Sitting proudly on Magdalen Road, between Cowley and Iffley, The Rusty is a proper neighbourhood pub, full of personality, good people and the kind of laid-back atmosphere that makes you want to stick around for another.
It’s a place for relaxed lunches, pints at the bar, dinner with mates and big nights with the whole neighbourhood. And every July, the legendary Rusty Street Party spills out onto the street and brings the community together for one of the biggest days in the Dodo calendar.

The Rusty Bicycle is all about great food, good drinks and bringing people together. Tuck into the pub menu, round up your smartest mates for the Tuesday quiz, or grab a table outside when the weather’s playing ball. It’s relaxed, friendly and full of character, the kind of place that works just as well for a quick pint as it does for settling in for the evening.
Group Bookings & Private Hire
Planning a get-together in East Oxford? The Snug at The Rusty Bicycle is a cosy space just off the main bar, with tables that can be rearranged to suit your group. It can host up to 20 guests seated or 40 standing (semi-private), making it a good fit for birthday drinks, relaxed celebrations and larger group gatherings.

Located on the corner of Hurst Street & Magdalen Road. The Rusty Bicycle sits bang between Iffley and Cowley Rd. and is a short walk from bus stops on Iffley and Cowley Rd.
We’re also a 15-minute taxi ride from Oxford Train Station & easily accessible by both bicycle and the recently installed Voi electric scooters.
